Volunteers Are Always Welcome

The Make A Difference Fishing Tournaments for Special Kids would not be possible without the continued support of the community and local businesses.

Our fishing tournaments rely on volunteers who care about the kids and helping them have fun with a day on the water, which for many these events are the only time they’ll have a chance to experience the fun.

Our biggest event is the annual October Tournament held at Big Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach which hosts over 300 special anglers each year.

In past years the total number of attending the event has been close to one thousand. You can see why we need your volunteer help.

Our meetings are fun and usually held on Thursday's at 6:30p.m. And, don’t worry about dinner, one of our Master Chefs will probably be near by with hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks.

Volunteers are needed for all of our events: Largo Tournament – Ft. Lauderdale – Benefit Auction & Casino Night Clearwater Big Pier 60 (for kids) – Clearwater Big Pier 60 (for adults).

Committees

Registration – On the morning of the tournament you should be one of the first to arrive to confirm pre-registered anglers and help complete new registrations.

Grab Bags – TBA

Fishing Equipment – What’s a fishing tournament without fishing equipment! Following registration we need volunteers to pass out tackle boxes, fishing rods and reels.

Baiting – Not for the faint at heart but, its fun. Every hook needs a worm and some of the kids would love your help.

Food & Beverage – What better place to be than in the kitchen. Somebody has to flip hamburgers and boil the hot dogs. A steady stream of cold sodas and water is a must for our ambitious anglers.

Statistics – We need to keep track of the fish caught. Big ones, little ones, even ugly ones and pretty ones too. You’ll measure and log as many fish as you can. Take Polaroid pictures of kids and their catch.

Photography – Any pictures you want to share of our events are always welcome.

Clean Up – Everyone pitches in to help keep all the areas clean but, at the end it’s always nice to have a few extra volunteers.
