Hello friends~
Anyone who knew Skip, knew that he had a big tender heart, well, the autopsy has revealed that he DID in fact, have a big heart! Skip's heart was twice the size of what it should have been, and he passed away from what seems to be a heart attack. He will be cremated, but the family has not decided exactly what they plan to do right now. There is a possibility that his ashes may be scattered at some point, and I will relay that information when it is available.
For now, the family has asked us to join together to celebrate Skip's life. We are all invited to gather together (dutch treat) at the original Crabby Bill's, located at 401 Gulf Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach, this coming Saturday, July 7th between the hours of 3 pm to 6 pm. Everyone is invited to come to Crabby Bill's to remember our friend, share pictures, stories, and good memories. Here is the link with directions to Crabby Bill's The proper attire of the day will be flip flops or sandals, shorts and Hawaiian shirts, just like Skippy!
If you have any pictures you would like to share with the family, please feel free to drop them off at Skip's house (in the mail box please) at 1740 Kenilworth Dr, Clearwater 33756. These pictures will be used in a collage that will be shared at Crabby Bill's for all to see. The pictures will not be returned. Please feel free to e-mail any pictures to me, that could be forwarded to the family.
Also, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to an organization that Skip had volunteered his time to and was something that was dear to his heart, Make A Difference Fishing. This is an organization that quite a few of us have donated our time and efforts to, and we all knew that Skip LOVED fishing! Make a Difference Fishing, teaches mentally and physically handicapped or disabled children how to fish. Donations can be made in Skip's honor at the Crabby Bill's event (see me) or can be mailed directly to the organization at : Make A Difference Fishing, PO Box 16535, Clearwater, FL 33766, referencing "Skip Albrecht" . The website for this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is: www.makeadifferencefishing.org. Also, there is information on the website about Make A Difference's upcoming fundraising benefit auction, to be held on Friday, August 17th at the Clearwater Harborview Center. Last year Skip and I went to this event, and we had a blast as usual.
Since Skip had so many friends, please pass this information on to anyone that knew and loved Skip, or send me their name and e-mail address and I will add them to my contact list. Also please feel free to call me at (727) 412-1745 if you should need any information. Take care my friends, and God bless you all!!!!
